1988 Douglas Laing XOP – Cambus 30 Year Old Single Cask Single Grain Scotch Whisky

One of only 282 bottles available. From the ‘XOP Old Particular’ range of whisky by Douglas Laing.
Distilled September 1988, bottled March 2019, from one Refill Hogshead – DL13089 Natural Cask Strength, Natural Colour – No Chill Filtration.

Appearance: Fairly light, summer runny honey/corn. Good viscosity, nice coating on the glass and medium/thick legs.

Nose: Confectionary sugar, honey, decent ABV, SUN BLEACHED barley, malt, honey nut Cornflakes.

Palate: Dessert wine sweetness, lovely and oily, lemon curd on buttered toast, white pepper, cereal, brown sugar. Eucalyptus, mint aero.

Finish: Medium to long, lemon, mild chilli, buttered toast still.

Overall: Very nice indeed. Friendly but with a decent ABV and complexity.
