Appearance- somewhere between light and wet straw in colour, beads up in the glass, drops slow thin legs.
Nose – Much different from the 10 and Corryvreckan, darker fruits, Sultanas, Figs, Mossy, Dunnage, Earthy.
Palate – Better married for its age than I expected, quite nicely rounded too, loverly and warming, Stewed dark fruits, Ginger, White pepper, Clove, Dunnage and Earthy like the nose, filthy Ash, and Lemonade ice lolly citrus.
Finish – White pepper, Strawberry, Lemonade sweetness, Cigar leaf, Earthy, Dark fruits, Bonfire ash, Medicinal Peat.
My thoughts – For it’s age, the Wee Beastie holds up very well, loads of flavour, easy to drink, and in a great price range.
Would I buy a bottle? – Yes definitely , I really enjoyed it, and would happily sit and sip.
