Appearance
White wine in colour, with a lovely thick swirl line and thick legs. #ADRattrayWhisky
Nose
Newly cut grass and a savoury meat note, seared pineapple, vanilla, white pepper, it’s a little fizzy up the nose too. #ADRattrayWhisky
Cereals and grains, and becoming herbaceous, more white pepper with lemon bonbons too. #ADRattrayWhisky
Palate
Lovely and spicy, with chocolate and cigar leaves, orange rind, bitter lemon, slightly earthy, plenty of Oak, and some tannins. Cherries are coming through now, and cranberries with pomegranate. #ADRattrayWhisky
Finish
Quite long, chest warmingly spicy, anise, liquorice, cardamom, nutmeg, Cooked meats, a slightly drying, note and red berries, very nice #ADRattrayWhisky
My thoughts
No surprises when i say that i like this whisky, and i do enjoy Independently bottled Ardmore too. I do like the aromas and flavours this dram offers, at cask strength it offers a great experience, and i’d definitely have a bottle.
Notes – This whisky is presented in it’s natural colour, is non chill filtered and bottled at natural cask strength.
Thanks to – A.D.Rattray Independent whisky company, and The Whisky Wire, for the opportunity to sample this whisky.
