Bains Single grain whisky, 40% ABV.

Appearance – Mid gold in colour, sticks well to the glass for 40% ABV.

Nose – Red berries, tropical fruits, like fruit cocktail syrup from the can, light maltyness, vanilla custard, slightly biscuity, candied lemon rind sweetness, red berry pie.

Palate – Palate – Loverly and warming, lots of bourbon notes, dark chocolate, apricot, orange, black pepper, nutmeg, ginger, clove, tobacco leaves, rum tones.

Finish – Medium length, spicy, black pepper, Ginger, chilli?, oak, it’s loverly.

My thought – This is a loverly whisky, it has plenty going on, and is rum like, especially on the nose.

Would I buy a bottle? – For me it’s a no brainer, I’d be very happy to have a bottle at all times, and it’s super affordable.
