Appearance
Heading towards mid gold in colour here, good thickness swirl line with slow medium thick legs and teardrops #TheWhiskeyChaps
Nose
Evergreen boughs, woody menthol, cereals and grains, and red berries trying to come through. A touch of bitter lemon, dried apricots, and a little of that hot mashed potato thing. #TheWhiskeyChaps
Nose: Immediate rich berry sweetness and depth, vanilla and honey, a touch of barley and eucalyptus and stewed apples #thewhiskeychaps

Palate
Decent mouthfeel, a little oily, and the spices are straight at you. Cinammon, ginger, cumin, grapefruit, lime starburst sweets, mocha, blackcurrants, red berries and red apple skin, a little drying. #TheWhiskeyChaps
Finish
Long side of medium in length, and at this point there is more of a sweet/ bitter balance going on, that NMS feel really has fought it’s way forward, very nice indeed. #TheWhiskeyChaps

Finish: fruity, vanilla, new wood, pepper. Nice and long#thewhiskeychaps
My thoughts
This was our first dram during our Cotswolds distillery tasting, and i was a great start. The combination of 1st fill Ex – Bourbon casks and STR Red wine casks works very well for me, the STR portion does enhance the fruitiness overall. I certainly wouldn’t turn my nose up at a bottle, i really enjoyed it.
Thanks to Toby – @WhiskyShared for joining us on this tasting. Toby’s Youtube channel can be found here, if you don’t currently follow him there please do, he does great reviews, and he can be followed on Twitter using the button below, as can the Cotswolds distillery and indeed us too.
