A sample was very kindly sent out to me by Toby – @WhiskyShared, the bottle image is also courtesy of Toby, links to him on Twitter as well as his Youtube channel can be found at the bottom of this review.
Appearance
Heading towards mid gold with an orange hue, a lovely thick swirl line, and an all over film and thick wavy legs. #TheWhiskeyChaps
Nose
Yes, high ABV lol, but again not face slapping. Rum flavoured toffees, wood varnish, dry cut grass, there’s almost a molasses aroma here, herbal menthol infusion, guava, leaning towards chocolate for me tbh. There is a sweetness coming through too now, cream soda, so nice. #TheWhiskeyChaps
I just said leaning towards chocolate 👍, and I’m thinking rum and raisin. #TheWhiskeyChaps

Palate
First off nice mouthfeel, and for a 6yr old it has so much flavour. That rum and raisin thing, molasses, butterscotch, rum toffees, black liquorice, cigar leaves, black coffee, black Jack sweets. #TheWhiskeyChaps
The palate carries the ABV well, although you can sense it's up there, it's deceptive as to just how high it is. Dangerously drinkable! #thewhiskeychaps

Finish
Calming down with more sweetness coming through for me, sweetened black coffee, something I can’t put a name too also, cough syrup, black pepper, finishes on a real sweet/spicy high, a cracking dram all round tbh. #TheWhiskeyChaps
My thoughts
This dram has so much going on it’s difficult to accept that it’s only 6 years old, but it is. The cask must have been a very good one, what it’s imparted to the New make spirit is simply wonderful, Toby bought this bottle without trying it, he picked a real winner in my humble opinion. The three of us thought it was delicious, a fitting finish to the Cotswold whisky tasting it was a part of.
