Dewar’s Double Double, 21 yr old, 46% ABV.

Appearance – Dark gold in colour, sticks well to the glass, and drops slow running medium legs.

Nose – Very spirit forward, Strong Bourbon notes, Clove, Black pepper, Cinnamon, Stewed dark fruits, Sultanas, Figs, Ginger, Cola cubes, pineapple cubes.

Palate – Oak, Black pepper, Ginger, Clove, The lightest of smoke, Sultanas, Cocoa bitterness, Pineapple.

Finish – Quite long, Peppery spice, Cocoa bitterness again, and Oak, a hefty finish.

My thoughts – A rather delicious and heavy flavoured Blended Whisky, in my opinion it would be hard to nail this down as a blend in a blind tasting, very nice.

Would I buy a bottle? – Definitely, it’s much better than I expected to be honest, this is what a blend can be if it’s done properly.
