45% ALC/VOL • 90 PROOF
This whiskey is 51% rye, 45% corn, 4% malt, and 100% genuine. Bottled at an honest 90 proof, it’s a real straight shooter.
Appearance – This Bourbon is darker gold in colour, it’s quite viscous on the glass, and has slow thick legs.
Nose – Oooh, a lot sweeter, tropical fruits here, pineapple, mango, icing sugar, dark cherries again, linseed oil, slight menthol, cereals, apricots, and vanilla.
Palate – there’re topical fruits like the nose, white pepper, it’s oily on the lips, there are menthol notes, black cherries, cardamom, dark treacle, and burnt sugar. There’re definitely oranges, ginger, brown sugar, it’s loverly and spicy tbh.
Finish – it’s the long side of medium, warming spices, nice wood/shavings note, and darker fruits, currants, clove, black cherries, with ginger and black pepper. I rather like this to be honest.
My thoughts – Another Bourbon I’ve really enjoyed, darker fruits and spice come to reign here, I’ve come to realise that I really enjoy Rye Bourbons.
Would I buy a bottle? – Yes, it’s a lovely drop, I love the spices, they are so warming, I like that sensation in a whisk(e)y, makes me smile.
