This whisky is crafted from a hand picked selection of 1st fill ex-American Rye barrels and 1st fill ex-Bourbon barrels; filled with spirit that flowed from the Fettercairn stills in 2009, and bottled in 2021.
Appearance
I’d say a little lighter than the batch 1, lighter than mid gold for me, with a thickening swirl line and a few slow thick legs. #thewhiskeychaps
Nose
Yes the rye is evident, there is also a sweetness that comes with it. Lemon and green apple skin again, a little foresty too, that evergreen boughs thing. More wood this time and it’s a little dusty now. #thewhiskeychaps
Fettercairn Warehouse 2 Batch 2 Nose: A real fruit salad of apple, pineapple, banana drizzled in honey. Lemon Bon Bons. Yet past all that there is rye bread with a vanilla and herbal note. #thewhiskeychaps

Palate
The mouthfeel is good again, and this is a little spicier, definitely rye, and it’s cigar leaves, dark shag tobacco, dunnage, ryvitas, mocha, and hot chocolate with ginger and blood orange zest. #thewhiskeychaps
Palate: Not such a luxuriously buttery mouthfeel as batch 1 but oily nonetheless. The lemon pepper and chilli heat are evident straight away. There's a mellow custard layer and some fruit reduction #thewhiskeychaps

Finish
Longer than batch 1, and the mouthfeel thickens further, tropical fruits, mixed with lovely spices, leaning towards mince pie filling, bitter lemon again, and those darker notes from the palate. #thewhiskeychaps
Good shout, have poured more as I've got a bit left in the bottle #thewhiskeychaps

My thoughts
We tasted the first three batches of the Warehouse 2 series from Fettercain whisky, a range iv’e been very keen to explore as in general i really enjoy Fettercairn whisky. I have to say that i really enjoyed this bottling, @whiskytip said he thought i would, and he was spot on to be honest.
The Warehouse 2 range has produced bottlings made from different cask marriages each time, it shows the versatility of the whisky, and this bottling has been put together so well in my opinion. Lots of aromas and flavours, great development, and the Rye casks bringing that lovely spicy leading to slightly bitter chocolate thing. I love this bottling and would definitely have a bottle in my whisky cupboard.
