This edition was distilled in 2015, and filled in to bourbon barrels, rum barrels and French red wine barriques, before being combined and bottled in 2022
57% Bourbon, 16% Rum and 27% French Red Wine Barrique #thewhiskeychaps

Appearance
Perhaps the lightest of all 3, damp straw in colour, medium to thick swirl line with a few medium thick legs. #thewhiskeychaps
Nose
Slightly botanical with lots of wood, dark rum comes through with almost sherry cask notes. Leaning to coffee, and dark fruits, the botanical notes hang around for me, and grains and cereals. #thewhiskeychaps
This is my favourite nose of the 3 tonight. Lovely and rich #thewhiskeychaps

Palate
Nice mouthfeel, not syrupy but not watery either, and the palate comes across better married here, bold but well married, and not overly spicy. Black treacle, icing sugar, brown sugar too, cherry juice, leather. #thewhiskeychaps
The cask mix works really well for me. You can tell the 3 different ones are there but they marry very well #thewhiskeychaps

Finish
Much like the palate with dark chocolate digestive biscuits and black Jack sweets. Perhaps a sweetened coffee too. It does feel spicy now but it isn’t a face slapper. #thewhiskeychaps
My thoughts
Fettercairn whisky is a bit of a favourite of mine to be honest, and I’ve been wondering what these Warehouse 2 limited bottles are like. It turns out that the majority liked this out of the three batches the best, it’s roundness and maturity are superb in my opinion, and the casks are so well married. In general the spirit in all three batches have taken to their casks so well, someone has done a wonderful job of keeping their eye on them and blended the casks at an ideal time and ratio. There is no doubt that i’d love one of these bottles in my whisky cupboard.
