Appearance – Deep Gold in colour, beads up in the glass, and eventually drops slow running thick legs.
Nose – Fruit cocktail, Apricot, Pineapple, Biscuity, slightly smokey? Boiled sweets, Tobacco leaf, Black pepper, Raisins.
Palate – Red Apple, Pear, Lemon oil, Black pepper, Cinnamon, very bold, BBQ sauce, Dark fruits, Sweet liquorice.
Finish – Long, Warming, Bold, Well married, Dark fruits, Sherry, and peppery spices.
My thoughts – This is a wonderfully bold and flavoursome whisky, lots of fruit, and sherry notes.
Would I buy a bottle? – Yes, a loverly drop indeed, and so easily drinkable at its strength.
