Appearance
slightly darker gold in colour this time, it has a thick swirl line that tries to bead up, that develop into very slow moving teardrops. #thewhiskeychaps
Nose
Yes bigger ABV, and the nose is deeper for me. More complex, dirty, a touch of sulphur, oily rags, engine oil, definitely the back of a painter and decorators van. Linseed, raisins, I’m also getting a meatiness too. #thewhiskeychaps
Sparklers, molasses, black cherries, aging leather, and becoming dusty, old library shelf type stuff. #thewhiskeychaps
Palate
Very nice mouthfeel, quite oily, quite rich too, for only 9yo. Spicy youth, with black pepper and dark fruits, but showing depth and roundedness also. Cocktail cherry syrup, dates, black liquorice, mocha, chocolate fudge cake. #thewhiskeychaps
The palate as a whole is a lovely flavour, it’s meaty, it’s chewy, it’s dark, I’m surprised it’s only a 9yo tbh. The sulphur eventually disappears too, a plus for me. #thewhiskeychaps
Finish
Medium long in general, though the darker notes do last a little longer. I do like this. #thewhiskeychaps
