Guest tasting notes from Toby, @whiskyshared (Tw), of GlenSpey 12 yr old, F&F.

GlenSpey 12 yr old

Appearance – Deep copper

Nose – toffee, tropical fruits, savoury almost meaty note, a little spirit forward, heather honey, vinegar, nice biscuits, custard.

Palate – buttery toffee, tropical fruits, chilli pepper, fizzy sherbet, oily, umami

Finish – Medium length, dry wood, mango

My thoughts – Sweet and savoury on the nose and palate. Tropical fruit is the main flavour and there’s a very dry finish

Would I buy a bottle? – It’s pleasant enough but nothing that stands out enough for me to want to buy a bottle.
