Guest tasting notes: Monkey Shoulder Blended Scotch Whisky, 40%ABV.

The following notes have kindly been uploaded by Ed Russ.

Type of whisk(e)y – Whisky (scotch).

How long has the bottle been open? – Newly opened.

Introduction to the whisk[e]y (casks used, distillery, is it a special release etc) – Scotch Advent Calendar Drinks by the Dram.

Appearance – Amber, Dark Gold.

Nose – Carmel, toffees, vanilla.

Palate – Front loaded spice, again Carmel, sweet and slightly oily or creamy (just slightly).

Finish – Short to medium finish, the spice from the front fades and doesn’t travel down but does linger on the lips.

Overall thoughts – I did like it and Googled the price of a full bottle – I would by it for the price point it’s in.

Thanks to Ed Russ for submitting his tasting notes.
