Appearance
Very light gold, the swirl line beads up immediately, and drops thin legs as well as teardrops that hang on the glass. #thewhiskeychaps
Nose
ABV is very prominent, with damp leaf litter, tree bark, slightly vegetal too atm. Floral perfume eventually arrived for me, meadow flowers, and a fruit sweetness is teasing me. #thewhiskeychaps
Green grapes, icing sugar, bitter lemon, and an oily rag, not had that on a Macduff before. #thewhiskeychaps
Palate
The palate is where it’s at. Yes to the fruits, wide range, and it becomes very spicy, lots of 1st fill bourbon cask spices. Hot cinnamon gobstoppers, vanilla pod, a Turkish delight feel too. Bitter lemon and grapefruit pith. #thewhiskeychaps
Apricot pastries, then darker fruits break through. Blackcurrant jam, dates, figs even? Still very spicy, black liquorice, unsweetened espresso, some tannins, chocolate coated raisins, and prunes! #thewhiskeychaps
Finish
Medium long in general, but the spices do linger longer, and it continues to stay spicy for me. It’s much like the palate in all honesty. #thewhiskeychaps
