That Boutique-y Whisky Company Speyside #3 8yo 50.7% ABV

An 8-year-old expression, produced at an undisclosed distillery in the Speyside region. Batch 1 is a release of 4,221 bottles.

Appearance: Light gold/white wine. A medium beaded tide mark with many thick trails and an oily film. After a short time several large teardrops form below the tide mark.

Nose: Toffee apple, vanilla, green apples and banana. A nicely balanced alcohol level. Some garden mint and digestive biscuits after a while too. Chocolate appears after the dram has time to mature.

Palate: A pepper-forward arrival with vegetal notes and vanilla. The toffee apple and chocolate are still evident too. A growing chest warming sneaks up as the dram is consumed.

Finish: Medium in length. The pepper, chocolate and toffee all last for a little while. The vegetal element remains too, but in the background.

Overall: Not to my taste, it’s a little confusing and unbalanced.
