Casks: Matured in American white oak ex-Bourbon casks and hand-selected aged Paez Amoroso Sherry casks. RRP: £350.00.
Appearance: That ‘ale orange’ again. A few teardrops on this one and some rather jagged thin/medium legs. Not as viscous as the 2005 vintage I would say, but coats the glass nonetheless.
Nose: A very fruity and vibrant nose. Redberry Eton Mess, a touch of fresh mint and dark salted chocolate. Lemon sherberts, fruit salad sweets and sherbert dip. Rosewater/Turkish delight, some funk.
Palate: Rich and dark, still get the salt note, as well as the chocolate. Some spice heat and a slight tartness.
Finish: Sweet and spice with the salt note and tobacco leaf, nothing hangs on for long. Drying too.
Overall: Again, not to my personal tastes and I think personally, for £350 I’d be disappointed.
