Set in the beautiful Perthshire countryside, The Glenturret Distillery is Scotland’s oldest working distillery and a truly unique whisky experience. Glenturret Malt Whisky is still hand crafted today as it was over two centuries ago using the only remaining hand operated mash tun in Scotland. Drawing on the area’s plentiful natural resources, whisky is made by hand and heart and visitors will experience the traditional handmade distilling processes that have been used to craft the whiskies at The Glenturret Distillery for generations.
Glenturret Whisky
Appearance – Lighter gold in colour, it’s nice and viscous with thin legs.
Nose – That’s surprisingly medicinal, Germoline, band aid plasters, BBQ meats, black cherries, pastry and cereals too. There’s hay, cut grass, herbaceousness and hand rolling tobacco too, there are notes of salinity and oiliness too.

Finish – It’s long and spicy, with plenty of wood, and some char, lots of black peppercorns, chilli’s again, and root ginger, which make it very warming.
My thoughts – I really like this whisky, there’s plenty going on, and it’s quite medicinal for a non Islay whisky.
Would i buy a bottle? – I certainly would, it’s a lovely sweet fruit/ medicinal peat mix.
