Appearance – Wet straw in colour, very viscous in the glass again.
Nose – Bonfire ash mixed with sweet bbq sauce, bbq meats, slightly marine, pineapple, lemonade, icing sugar, cherry lozenges, and quite punchy for 46% ABV.
Palate – Peat smoke, fire ash, minted peas, savoury cooked meat, mango, guava, black pepper, apricots, pineapple cubes, slight jalapeño chilli, orange, very nice indeed.
Finish – Long again, loverly and warming, tangy, spicy, with a little sweetness, perfectly balanced, some loverly oak right at the back of the palate 襤.
My thoughts – Another belter from Compass box, so much flavour, plenty of peat and fruit.
Would I buy a bottle? – Without a doubt, it’s just as good as The Spice tree and The Spaniard bottlings.
